City of Guayaquil
Guayaquil is located in the northwest of South America and has a lot to offer to visitors. The city is located relatively far away from the Andes and has a population of about 2.5 million people. The city's unique location (surrounded by the Guayas river in the east and the Salado estuary in the west) has been a major factor in developing harbour activities with an important impact on the economy of Ecuador.
Weather conditions are relatively stable throughout the year, with only two seasons occurring: winter (January-May) and summer (June-December), with temperatures being generally higher in winter months. Nevertheless, Guayaquil can be visited in any time of the year, attracting tourists with the ferris wheel, Las Peñas, the Malecon 2000 and a variety of churches and parks.
